Cold weather protection

Cold weather got your plants down? Put an extra layer of row cover

over your plants, and underneath your other cover(s). Each layer

lowers the zone by 1-1/2. This should get your plants through very

frigid conditions.

Soil Mix for the Raised Bed

The preferred mix for the 4'x8' unit is:

  • 3/4 cubic yard good topsoil or topsoil/compost,
  • 2 bags of Back to Earth or Metro 702,
  • 1# Yum Yum mix or some good organic fertilizer,
  • 1# Humate or Worm castings.
